Leadership Team

Ms. Hitesman is outside general counsel for Genesis Employee Benefits, a nationwide health care savings plan and reimbursement administrator headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She has practiced in the area of employee benefits law for over 20 years. She is known for her broad-based experience including day to day counseling, handbook review, contract negotiation, agency representation, and substantive support in litigation regarding various aspects of employee benefits. She advises clients regarding compliance with the Internal Revenue Code, ERISA, FMLA, and state insurance laws. Ms. Hitesman represents for-profit, non-profit, and governmental entities. Her clients include third party service providers, health care providers, plan sponsors, and employers. She is a nationally recognized speaker to both legal and non-legal audiences on various employee benefit topics. Ms. Hitesman also co-authors ERISA Compliance for Health & Welfare Plans, published by the Employee Benefits Institute of America (EBIA). She has been named a Super Lawyer by her peers and has consistently been recognized as one of the Top 50 Women Lawyers in Minnesota.

Ms. Hitesman has extensive experience representing public sector entities and numerous private sector (for-profit and non-profit) entities, including assistance with labor negotiations.

She received her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Coe College, Cedar Rapids, IA and her Jurist Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School in Minneapolis, MN.  Next>>
